Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore is the crown jewel of Michigan's Upper Peninsula — 42 miles of sandstone cliffs, turquoise water, and some of the best hiking east of the Rockies. The boat tours alone are worth the drive.
The problem: camping inside the National Lakeshore is limited, primitive, and unsuitable for most RVs. No hookups, unpaved access roads, and a 35-foot practical limit that makes maneuvering a Class A an exercise in regret.
The solution: camp nearby. The Munising area has excellent RV parks within 10–30 minutes of the Pictured Rocks boat tour dock, Miners Castle overlook, and every major trailhead.
Here are 10 RV-friendly campgrounds near Pictured Rocks, ranked by proximity and hookup quality.
