Day-by-Day Itinerary
Newberry, MI — Fuel + Provision Stop

Tahquamenon Falls State Park
🚗 ~0.4hr drive from previous stop
Rivermouth Campground for RVs (electric sites, boat launch access). Upper Falls and Lower Falls both within 5 miles. Plan a full afternoon — the rowboat at the Lower Falls is non-negotiable. Bear boxes provided at most sites.
Overnight StopMichigan DNR reservations are mandatory for electric sites. RVshare has Class C and Class A rigs available in the Sault Ste. Marie area if you're renting.
View Campgrounds →Upper Tahquamenon Falls — Morning Visit

The Tahquamenon to Munising RV Route: Everything You Need to Know
This is the most popular RV corridor in the Upper Peninsula, and for good reason: you can anchor two nights at Tahquamenon Falls State Park and Munising and hit every major landmark between them without unhooking once. Here's what nobody tells you about doing it in an RV.
Route Logistics for RVs
M-28 between Newberry and Munising is straight, well-maintained, and has no low clearance bridges on the main route. The road into the Lower Tahquamenon Falls area (Paradise, MI) has some curves but nothing a Class A or Class C can't handle. The Pictured Rocks area has limited large-rig parking at trailheads — park at the main Munising visitor center lot and use your tow vehicle or bike to access trailheads.
Dump Stations and Hookups
Tahquamenon Falls State Park Rivermouth Campground has electric hookups at some sites; full hookups are limited. The Newberry KOA (20 miles from the falls) has full hookup sites and a dump station open to non-guests for a fee. In Munising, the Wandering Wheels Campground has full hookup sites and is within 2 miles of the boat dock and the national lakeshore boundary. The KOA Munising is the fallback for 50-amp service.
Fuel and Provisioning
Diesel is available in Newberry (Mackinac County), Paradise, and Munising. Stock up in Newberry before heading north — Paradise has one station that can run low on diesel in peak season. Grocery: the IGA in Newberry is the last serious grocery store before Munising. Munising has a small grocery but runs short of fresh produce by Thursday in summer.
Campground Details
Tahquamenon Falls State Park has three campground areas: the Rivermouth Campground (electric, near the boat launch), the Lower Falls Campground (closest to the rowboat dock), and the Upper Falls Campground. For RVs, Rivermouth is easiest. Michigan DNR reservation system opens 6 months in advance; summer weekends go in minutes.
